THE STATS EFFECT
pdf, 2015
« SURE
STATS »
«What is it? I don't know how to describe Sure Stats. It's not a stand-alone
routine. It's more of icing on the cake--you thought the effect was done, but
here's one last, unexpected climax. I've added it as a finisher to a baffling
double prediction routine by Dave Forrest. Maybe three climaxes is too much, but
I surely like it. What I also like is the information given on how to modify the
fake news articles to suit your own utility purposes. You'll have to tinker a
little bit, and no, they won't look perfect, but they'll work well enough. I
wasn't sure what I was getting when I purchased this, but I'm glad that I spent
the small price. It's an example of some really good, out-of-the-box thinking by
a smart French mentalist.»
(review on lybrary)
This
little utility will transcend a simple mentalism effect, or allow you
to innocently bring something « Magic » during a normal
conversation or an act.
-
It seems to bring a plausible explanation to people's choices.
-
It will provide misdirection or a logical disconnect, or another layer of deception, in a subtle way.
You
can use it, and will use it, for your existing routines, and with
many topics, as it is quite universal. It needs an easy one-time
preparation that costs nothing, and that you can carry with you all
the time. It will then look casual and improvised, and is VERY easy
to include in existing routines, card tricks or else.
Example:
A
spectator is asked to name her favorite cocktail, (or flower, or else
- No force), and then, her favorite card (or else - Again, No force).
You
now produce a « proof » that explains or partly justifies
their decisions.
NOTE:
This can be followed with a kicker ending or effect of your choice.
(in this particular example, for instance, you could produce the
named card (as in « Sure Guess », or with an invisible
deck, or any other method you like).
